MICKEY THOMAS is the owner of the soaring voice that propelled STARSHIP through the decades of the 80's and 90's. With his soulful and compelling vocals, MICKEY has established himself as one of Rock Music's most recognizable stars.
Mickey made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit "FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE" with The ELVIN BISHOP Band. In 1979, Mickey's joined the JEFFERSON STARSHIP as lead vocalist, after the departure of Grace Slick and Marty Balin.
Backed by the power of MICKEY'S vocals, JEFFERSON STARSHIP immediately scored a #1 hit with "JANE". With this new sound and powerful new vocals, the group was renamed STARSHIP and continued to record an amazing string of hits including "NO WAY OUT", "WE BUILT THIS CITY", "SARA", and an Oscar nomination for the #1 hit "NOTHING GONNA STOP US NOW" from the movie Mannequin". Other top hits included "FIND YOUR WAY BACK", "STRANGER", LAYING IT ON THE LINE", and "IT'S NOT OVER TILL IT'S OVER" which became Major League Baseball's theme in 1987.
Moreover, every STARSHIP album released since 1979 has gone Gold, Platinum, or Multi-Platinum. MICKEY'S stellar voice and video charisma on STARSHIP's video classics such as "WE BUILT THIS CITY" and "SARA" have become staples on MTV and VH1. Material covered in STARSHIP's live performance ranges from MICKEY'S tenure with THE ELVIN BISHOP Band and STARSHIP, as well as songs from his two solo albums. this compilation of some of the best music of the 60s! So “invest a
dime,” and “imagine how the world could be so very fine” with tickets to
the Happy Together Tour 2013!
Flo and Eddie of The Turtles debut single, Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe,” went Top Ten in 1965
and launched the band on a brief string of hits: “Let Me Be,” “You
Baby,” “Grim Reaper of Love,” and “Can I Get to Know You Better.” The
Turtles weren’t content, however, and were about to break up; but first
they released “Happy Together,” which proved to be their biggest hit,
and one of 1967′s Top Ten records. With their career reinvigorated,
“She’d Rather Be with Me,” “You Know What I Mean,” “Elenore,” and “You
Showed Me” were their last single releases.
Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, became a founding member of the group in
1967. While Chuck was with Three Dog Night they had a phenomenal 18
consecutive top 20 hits, 21 top 40 hits, 8 top 10 hits and 4 number one
hits – not to mention 5 top 10 albums and 11 top 20 albums. Some of
their hits include “One” (Is the Loneliest Number), “Lady Samantha,”
“Old Fashioned Love Song,” “Eli’s Coming,” and “Pieces of April.”
Discover why Negron and Three Dog Night had the whole world singing “Joy
to the World.”
The unmistakable voice of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap still has the power to astound the ears of listeners across the nation. In 1968 the group had six consecutive
gold records and sold more records than any other recording act,
including the Beatles. Hits like “Young Girl,” “Woman Woman,” “Lady
Willpower,” Over You,” “This Girl is a Woman Now,” and more. See why
this group still has the power to “Keep the Customer Satisfied.”
“Take off your rainbow shades,” and get ready for Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders!
Lindsay is well known for his dynamic live show. With over 700 network
television appearances to his credit and hit songs like “Kicks,”
“Arizona,” “Just Like Me,” “Hungry,” “Ups & Downs,” “Him or Me,”
“Good Thing,” and “Let Me,” this is one front-man who hasn’t lost his
groove.
It was the summer of 1964 when Gary Lewis and The Playboys were discovered by producer Snuff Garret. Before long, they took their first single, “This Diamond
Ring” straight to number one. They followed with more Top 10 songs such
as “Save Your Heart For Me,” “Everybody Loves A Clown,” “She’s Just My
Style,” “Sure Gonna Miss Her,” and many more. In 1965 Gary himself was
Cash Box magazine’s “Male Vocalist of the Year”, winning the honor over
other nominees Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. You’ll want to say
“Count Me In” for this live show!

NORTH SHORE ELDER SERVICES PRESENTS BARBRA & FRANK
THE CONCERT THAT NEVER WAS
Saturday, October 12 at 8PM
TICKETS: $50 ROWS C-J | $40 ALL OTHER SEATS
A sensational tribute to Sinatra and Streisand!
Starring Sharon Owens & Sebastian Anzaldo
It is unlikely that the two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the
same stage...until now!
"A Match Made In Las Vegas"
They never worked together, exactly, except when they taped a duet in separate recording sessions, but it's tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour.
Just imagine the possibilities. Would one have outshone the other? Would their on stage banter have been friendly or a bit snippy?
