Building Our Reputation
Over the years, NSMT has gained a national reputation for our professionalism, our high-quality musicals, our dedication to cultivating new musicals and artists, and our education programs. We're proud to know our reputation stems from the word-of-mouth of those who have enjoyed our productions for generations, worked alongside our team, or are partners of ours within the national theatrical landscape. We exist because of the talented artists within our team—both on stage and off.

Where Are The Trucks?
Not here. It’s a myth we are constantly trying to dispel. Just to reiterate—we do not present tours. What you see here, you won’t see at other theaters…anywhere. We do not unload sets and props off a truck that has traveled from another city. Instead, we purchase every piece of wood, metal, plastic, bolt of cloth, etc., and transform it—right here in Beverly, MA.
Moreover, packaged tours just won’t fit our unique arena-style theater—so that option is not even on the table. The cost of designing the elements for a musical—whether it’s a familiar classic or a bold new show, is tremendous. We understand that, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Because just like you, we don't take the easy way out. We go for quality above all else. Value matters to you, and same goes for us. It's in our blood, and that will never change.

Audience Above All
We want to be your first choice when going to the theatre. Just as there’s competition to hire the best employees, competition for audience share is even more intense. We know you can spend your entertainment dollars wherever you want because there are so many choices. It’s our responsibility to assure you that the dollars and time you spend here at NSMT are well worth it. Spent locally, creatively, and most importantly with passion.
You are the reason we continue to strive to produce award-winning musicals and offer acclaimed educational programs for all ages. Our audiences have always been the backbone of North Shore Music Theatre—and we look forward to presenting even more magic for years to come.

We stand in solidarity with our Black employees, fellow theatre creators, performers, musicians, crew, audience members, and all those in the Black community. We stand against racism. We stand against discrimination in all forms. We see you, we hear you. We are listening. We know we’re not perfect. We know we have not always been vocal when we should have. For that, we are truly sorry.
Actions will always speak louder than words. We must now collectively take it upon ourselves as an organization and individual citizens to do the work—to donate, to research, to self-educate, to train staff, to protect employees/guests, to stand against hate, to stand against racism at all touchpoints. We know we have a long way to go to shape the future we wish to see in life, on stage, and behind the scenes. We must never again fall silent. We must work together to speak out, now and forever, until #BlackLivesMatter is more than just a movement, but the tangible reality of true justice for all.
