BOX OFFICE ASSOCIATE
Hourly rate: $14.25

Essential Job Duties:
  • Generates revenue by selling and issuing show tickets directly to guests at the Box Office and via telephone. Efficiently makes reservations and issues tickets. Solve ticket issues. Effectively presents information and responds to questions from other departments, customers and general public. Creates and maintains a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Must be reliable and flexible
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Extensive customer service required
  • Must have computer experience
  • Previous ticketing experience a plus
Working Conditions:
  • High energy/stress box office environment
  • Extensive public contact
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must have an outgoing personality, positive and upbeat attitude
Hours/Compensation
  • Hours vary depending on show schedule

CONCESSIONS STAFF
Hourly rate: $14.25 plus Tips

Job Description:

Hours vary depending on show schedule. This is a seasonal position. Candidates must be available to work days, nights and weekends. Must be flexible. Customer Service experience is a must and be willing to work in a team environment.  Work Areas include Lobby Bar, Lobby Café and Garden Bistro
 
DUTIES (depending on area)
  • Take Food and drink orders from patrons
  • Prepare orders, operate outdoor grill
  • Light Bartending
  • Daily Inventory
  • Restock and clean work area
  • Cash out end of shift
  • Perform general duties as assigned
  • Cross train in other areas as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Handling money and use of cash register
  • Previous food Service and Bartending experience a plus but not necessary. Willing to train right person
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
  • Must be able to lift no more than 20 pounds
  • Must be 18+

EDUCATION

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Summer Session, Tap and Musical Theatre Styles (adult classes)

 
The Dance Instructor will create and teach a curriculum encompassing the fundamentals of various dance techniques. Candidates must possess strong and flexible classroom management skills and a concrete understanding of dance technique for musical theatre and tap. Candidates should also be able to create a positive working/learning environment for the students participating.  Candidate must be able to bring own music (sound system provided) to accompany students during class.        
 
Class Times:
Mondays in June and July, estimated times 6pm-9pm
 
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of various Dance techniques specifically: Tap, Ballet, Broadway Jazz, etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching dance or choreographing.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check process.
 
Compensation:
Negotiable

FACILITIES DEPARTMENT

FACILITIES DAY AND NIGHT SUPERVISOR:
Hourly rate: Competitive Wages

Job Description:
The Facilities Supervisor works days, nights and weekends based on our show and event schedule.  Hours are subject to change. Must be flexible with hours.   As the Supervisor, you oversee the patron parking as well as the parking attendants.
 
The Facilities Supervisor oversees the property and maintenance before and during shows.  Responsible for cleanliness of theatre, property, and minor maintenance throughout the performance.   When the theatre is not in show mode, the Facilities Supervisor then would join the regular facilities team and help maintain the demands of the property.  Position will be further discussed upon interview.
 
Qualifications:
  • All applicants must show proof of full vaccination and booster vaccine. Boosters are required when eligible.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to Lift over 50lbs continuously.
  • Experience with general hand tools, power tools, landscape equipment. (Will train the right candidate.)

FACILITIES TEAM MEMBER
Hourly rate: Competitive Wages
 
We are currently looking for part time/ full time employees to join the Facilities team. The season for this applicant consists of March Thru January 31st with the possibly of staying on for the winter as well.  These hours would be between 9am and 5pm Monday thru Friday. Hours can change depending on day and demands of the day with an earlier start time.  Must be able to lift 50lbs.   This employee would work a minimum of 25 hrs. a week and no more than 40 hours depending on the week and demand of work. The Facilities team is responsible for maintaining the inside and outside grounds of the property.  Painting, Landscaping, snow removal, event setup, janitorial work, etc.

Job Description:

NSMT 2022 Musical Theatre Season

 
RUN CREW (Stagehands, Spotlight Operators, Dressers)
 
Start date for the first show is June 1, 2022, with continuing work available through Dec.23, 2022
 
ASAP – Ongoing. Run crew is typically called the Thursday prior to opening through tech rehearsals and performances of the show with some “as needed” extra stagehands for larger show load-ins a few days prior. Dark the Monday after opening.
 
  • Upcoming dates are     
  • Cinderella (July 12-July 24)
  •  Buddy. The Buddy Holly Story (August 16 – August 28)
  • Little Shop of Horrors (September 20 – October 2)
  • Kinky Boots (October 25 – November 6)
  • A Christmas Carol (Dec 1 – Dec 23)
 
Position is hourly, W2, Starts at $18/hr.
 
Ideal candidates should have a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to quickly and accurately follow instructions and be comfortable, climbing ladders and safely working at heights of 25 feet on a catwalk above the audience during show runs. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Experience in technical theatre and show run calls is preferred but not necessarily required.

SOUND DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR
North Shore Music Theatre a 1500-seat arena theatre, ½ hour north of Boston, seeks an experienced audio technician to lead its sound department.  Available immediately.

Successful candidate will have the following:
  • Experience: 2 or more years’ experience in production environment (preferably in a leadership position).
  • Knowledge of modern audio equipment and all components including analog & digital consoles, wireless RF, effects & signal processors; keyboards, samplers, signal & power distribution, and backline.
This position is full-time hourly, W2, Starts at $ 23 / Hour

Skills: Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate in a team oriented environment. Must have strong leadership & interpersonal skills. Excellent written & verbal communication abilities in addition to solid time management and organizational habits.

Software knowledge including windows, mac, QLab, vectorworks/cad, ms office.

ELECTRICIAN
Looking for a theatre electrician to join our full-time electrics crew at North Shore Music Theatre. Will work with various aspects of theatrical lighting. Responsibilities will generally include equipment maintenance, load-in hang and focus, and general projects as directed by the Electrics Lead for concerts, theatrical performances and special events for the 2022 Season. 

Must have at least two years’ experience working in theater as an electrician. Bachelor’s degree in technical theatre/lighting or equal professional experience preferred but not required. Must be able to work at heights of 25 feet on ladders, catwalks and genie lifts and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Position is full-time hourly, W2, Starts at $20/hr.

SCENIC CARPENTER
North Shore Music Theatre, a 1500 seat theatre in the round, located 1/2 hour north of Boston, seeks an experienced scenic carpenter to join its scene shop staff.  Successful candidate will possess a strong background in scenery construction, including wood, steel, and foam construction, experience constructing stage mechanics, the ability to complete projects independently, and metal working / welding or rigging skills a big plus.  6 show theatre season with additional projects in support of NSMT’s education department and new works development.  Position is full-time/hourly, year-round, with benefits available.

STITCHER/WARDROBE CREW
We are currently seeking individuals to join our stitching and wardrobe crew for our 2022 Season.

Responsibilities include Stitching/Alterations for full scale musicals. Dressing a wardrobe track for show runs. Steaming/pressing and laundry maintenance. Performing quick changes, assisting with striking and restocking items. This position is split 2.5 weeks daytime hours in the Costume Shop and 2.5 weeks tech/show schedule on average.

Qualifications: Strong sewing skills required. Knowledge of industrial machines, sergers, blind hemmers a plus. Previous experience running Wardrobe preferred.

Responsibilities include Stitching/Alterations for full scale musicals. Knowledge of industry standard tailoring methods a plus. Some shop maintenance, striking and restocking items as necessary. This position is on average 2.5 weeks daytime hours in the Costume Shop for each production.
 
Qualifications: Strong sewing skills required. Knowledge of industrial machines, sergers, blind hemmer preferred. Basic knowledge of pattern making and draping preferred.

MAKEUP/WIG MAINTENANCE/WARDROBE CREW
We are currently seeking individuals to join our wardrobe crew for our 2022 Season.
 
Responsibilities include maintaining wigs in accordance with Wig Designer’s standards. Rolling, blocking, re-styling, and cleaning wigs as needed. Makeup duties may include setting up makeup kits for performers, teaching/assisting performers in applying specialty make-up on a show-by-show basis as needed. Dressing a wardrobe track for show runs. Steaming/pressing and laundry maintenance. Performing quick changes Striking and restocking items. Stitching hours in Costume Shop available in non-performance weeks. This position is split 2.5 weeks daytime hours in the Costume Shop and 2.5 weeks tech/show schedule on average.
 
Qualifications: Knowledge of wig maintenance, hair styling, and makeup practices. Cosmetology license and previous experience running Wardrobe preferred. Basic sewing skills a plus.
