Cassie Bednall (Ensemble) is excited to be a part of North Shore Music Theater's production of The Music Man. Cassie lives in New York City where she has danced for several companies including The Next Stage Project, Mari Meade Dance Company, and The American Musical Theatre Dance Company which most recently performed in Beijing, China. Brad Bellamy (Mayor Shinn) is a member The Ensemble Studio Theatre and was formerly an artist in residence at Manhattan Punch Line. Brad’s most recent New York appearances were in the Off-Broadway productions of March Madness, Alphabetical Order and the Drama Desk nominated So Help Me God. He played Stefano in the 400th anniversary production of The Tempest. Regional credits include Actors Theatre of Louisville, Atlanta’s Alliance, Cleveland Play House, Dallas Theatre Center, Denver Center, Long Wharf, and Pittsburgh Public among others. His film appearances include Ira and Abby, Burning Point, Tied to a Chair, The Adventures of Arthur Conan Doyle and A Kiss for Jed Wood. On television he’s been seen as the special musical guest in ABC’s “On the Edge”, with Rodney Dangerfield in “It’s Not Easy Being Me”, “30 Rock”, “Law & Order SVU”, “Conviction”, and in commercials for AARP, Snickers, Sprint, Wendy’s, and many others.

J.D. Daw (Jacey Squires) is returning to NSMT after playing Sir Dennis Galahad in Spamalot, The Ziegfeld Tenor in Funny Girl, and Jinx in Forever Plaid. He just finished playing Doctor Madden in Rob Ruggiero's production of Next to Normal at Theater Works in Hartford, CT. He has also played Jacey in The Music Man for the MUNY in St. Louis and for the Sacramento Music Circus. J.D. played Jinx in Forever Plaid for the inaugural productions of both the Cosmopolitan Cabaret in Sacramento and the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret. Other favorite credits: Michael in Smokey Joe's Cafe for PACS and Man 2 in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change for The Mountain Playhouse. J.D. sings Frankie Valli tribute concerts all over the country, including a couple sit-downs at the Flatrock Playhouse in North Carolina. Liesl Jaye (Zaneeta Shinn) is delighted to be appearing for the first time at the North Shore Music Theater in this classic musical. Favorite past credits include the ensemble of Broadway’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the national tour of Hello, Dolly! Having trained for years as a dancer, she appeared as a competitor on the American television reality show “So You Think You Can Dance” and recently danced with The American Musical Theatre Dance Company in Beijing. She also trained as a gymnast and has competed in state, regional, and national USAG competitions. Liesl is presently completing studies in musical theater and dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

The class was indifferent but Brian was enchanted and has been humming "the Wells Fargo wagon" ever since! Scarlett Keene-Connole (Youth Ensemble) is thrilled to be back on the NSMT stage again having been seen this past season as Jane Banks in Mary Poppins (IRNE Nomination – Promising Young Performer). Previous NSMT credits include Fan in A Christmas Carol and Linda Manero in Saturday Night Fever. Scarlett's other roles include Theatre By The Sea's Mary Poppins (Jane Banks), Newport Children's Theater's Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Hello Dolly (Minnie), Midsummer Night's Dream (Bottom), Little Women (Young Amy), Peter Pan (Tinkerbell), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Oliver! (Fagan's Gang), and as Annie in Annie. Scarlett was honored to sing the National Anthem at the International Volvo Ocean Race sendoff in May, 2015. When Scarlett isn't on stage, she can usually be found in goal on her lacrosse, soccer and hockey team, competing in a swim meet or in racing her Opti in the waters of her hometown of Newport. Grace Olah (Youth Ensemble, s/c Gracie), 9, is thrilled to be making her NSMT debut. Grace has appeared in The Sound of Music (Gretl). She has also appeared in Billy Elliot (ballet girl) at Ocean State Theater. She was a featured soloist in Tis the Season and has performed in The Nutcracker and many other performances at the Franklin Performing Arts Company. She has trained for 5 years at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts. She has also studied with Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City. Erica Parks (Youth Ensemble, s/c Amaryllis) is thrilled to be making her NSMT’s Debut with this production of The Music Man. She is a World Tap Dance Champion-winning the gold medal for the USA with her teammates this past year in Riesa, Germany. Erica is a member of the American Tap Company and played a Flower Girl in a Secret Deodorant commercial. She loves musical theater, performing and visiting NYC. Meredith Willson (Book, Music, and Lyrics) was born in Mason City, Iowa, 1899. Throughout his career, he considered himself “press agent and ambassador-at-large for the sovereign state of Iowa.” At 19, he toured the U.S. and Europe with the John Philip Sousa band. Later he performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Willson’s radio credits included musical direction for “Maxwell House Coffee Time,” “The Big Show,” “Baby Snooks” and “The Dick Powell-Mary Martin Show.” During World War II, he conducted for Armed Forces Radio. After the War, he wrote the chart-topping hits “You and I,” “Two In Love” and “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You.” His Broadway career began with the encouragement of Frank Loesser, who urged him to set his tales of small-town Iowa to music. The Music Man marked Willson’s triumphant arrival on Broadway, and was followed by two more hits, The Unsinkable Molly Brown and Here’s Love. Mr. Willson’s final musical was 1491, which told the story of Christopher Columbus’ attempts to finance his three ships. Willson died in June 1984.
Franklin Lacey (Book) made his first stage appearance in a school production, performing in his own character sketches. For ten years, he toured the country in a one-man program of his character sketches, playing in theaters, convention halls, town halls and civic clubs. He was production assistant for Lady Windemere’s Fan, and was assistant to the director on a touring production of The Great Waltz. He was stage manager for Magdalena. Mr. Lacey wrote Pagan in the Parlour, a pageant, The Elk Story, and co-author of another pageant, The California Story. With Meredith Willson, he wrote the book for The Music Man.
Bob Richard (Director) Broadway: He has provided the choreography for How the Grinch Stole Christmas! At the St James Theatre in 2007 and it is still on the road this Holiday Season!!!! Off- Broadway: Co-Director & Choreographer of Inventing Mary Martin, The Revue Of A Lifetime. This work was recognized and nominated for the prestigious Callaway Award; The Road to Qatar at the York. Director: West Side Story 60th Anniversary, North Shore Music Theatre, The Ordway Performing Arts Center, TBTS and Sacramento Music Circus : (National Tours); The 50th Anniversary National Tour of Hello, Dolly! starring, Sally Struthers; Cabaret which won several awards around the country, including an Ivey Award. Also the National Tour of Guys and Dolls. On the other side of the planet he and his Wife Diane Laurenson worked together to help create an original Chinese musical "Shanghai Bund”; (TV and Film); Choreographer of “LazyTown” Season 3; by Turner Network Television. “The Tonight Show;” “The Today Show;” and “The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.” Bob WAS honored to be the Resident Choreographer for Sacramento Music Circus, in 19 years, he staged over 40 stellar productions, many original works for the first time in the Round! Twice he has been a guest master instructor at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Other notable Theatres include; The 5th Ave Theatre (Seattle, WA) where he won a Footlight Award and a Gypsy Rose Lee Award; Madison Square Garden (twice) (NYC), North Shore Music Theatre, (Beverly, MA), Theatre by The Sea (Wakefield, RI), Theatre Under the Stars (Houston, TX), and The Pioneer Theatre (Salt Lake City, UT). Bob and his wife Diane Laurenson are the Co-Founding Artistic Directors of The American Musical Theatre Dance Company! Diane Laurenson (Choreographer) is thrilled to return to NSMT after working alongside Director/Husband Bob Richard on the 2016 production of West Side Story, for which they earned an IRNE Nomination for Best Choreography in a Musical. She has also choreographed highly-acclaimed productions of West Side Story for The Ordway/St. Paul, Theatre By The Sea, North Carolina Theatre, Westbury Music Fair NY, and Sacramento Music Circus. A veteran Bob Fosse performer and teacher (Dancin', Sweet Charity, Big Deal), Diane assisted on reconstructing the 2nd National of Bob Fosse's Dancin'; after which, under the tutelage of Gwen Verdon, Diane recreated Sweet Charity starring Donna McKechnie for CMT, followed by Assistant Choreographer on the TV Movie “Gypsy,” starring Bette Midler. Diane and Bob are co-founders of the American Musical Theatre Dance Company, have premiered an original Chinese musical in Shanghai, China: Shanghai Bund; and are proud partners in their most extraordinary production: Robert Henry! Bill Hanney (Owner/Producer) is honored and proud to have been responsible for the re-opening of the nationally renowned North Shore Music Theatre in 2010. He began his career in show business at age 19, leasing and developing movie theaters, including his first multiplex in Quincy, Massachusetts. Before long, he was booking rock shows (Jefferson Starship, Rush) and other types of live entertainment, which eventually led to the presenting and producing of Broadway productions. One such show was an appearance by the legendary mime artist, Marcel Marceau. As president of Broadway Productions, Bill presented national tours such as Annie, Amadeus, Dancin', Peter Pan, Rocky Horror Show and Mark Twain starring Hal Holbrook, throughout New England including Worcester, Springfield, Portland, Maine and Boston. Aside from his work operating North Shore Music Theatre, one of Bill's crowning achievements was the 2007 purchase and re-opening of Theatre By The Sea, a landmark 500 seat professional summer theatre and restaurant, which is beginning its eleventh year of operation in Matunuck, RI (theatrebythesea.com). Throughout his career, Bill has stayed focused on his movie theatre chain having bought, built, owned, operated and sold more than 30 cinemas. His company, Entertainment Cinemas, currently operates seven movie complexes in four states. In 2009, Bill was elected President of the Theatre Owners of New England. Bill's ongoing work with NSMT inspires him to consider acquiring additional performance venues at which he plans to someday share his productions between his theatres. Bill has been named to the North Shore Top 100 by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. In 2012 he was recognized by both the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and Salem Chamber of Commerce as Business Person of the Year. He is the recipient of the 2015 Leslie S. Ray Hall of Fame Award, presented by the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. Bill is a member of the League of Broadway Producers and was involved with the recent revival of Pippin.
Kevin P. Hill (Producing Artistic Director). Born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, Kevin began his theatrical career as dancer and actor. He appeared in National Touring companies of Hello, Dolly! with Carol Channing, Leslie Uggams and Michele Lee, Anything Goes and the International Touring Company of A Chorus Line. New York audiences have seen him in the Off-Broadway production of Party. Regional credits as a performer include: West Side Story, Good News! A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady and Marvin in Falsettoland. Kevin has directed and choreographed over 100 productions across America. He has had the privilege of working with such stars as Marin Mazzie, Joanne Worley, Kathleen Turner, Josh Groban, Jonathan Groff and Tony Award winner, Cady Huffman. In New York, he was the assistant to the director of On The Twentieth Century at the New Amsterdam Theatre and assistant to the choreographer on the revival of Guys and Dolls. Most recently he directed and choreographed Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Sister Act, Young Frankenstein, Mary Poppins, and at Bill Hanney's Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island, where he is also Producing Artistic Director. Kevin has been nominated as Best Director/Choreographer for his work on Smokey Joe's Café, Rent, The Full Monty, Chicago, and Edwin Drood, and was awarded the NH Theatre Award for Best Choreography for West Side Story at the Papermill Theatre. Future projects include an original danced play called Standing Still. As a Professor of Dance, Kevin has been on faculty at Pennsylvania State University, Kansas State University and most recently The Boston Conservatory of Music. He currently owns Hill Studios Dance and Fitness Center located in Newton, Massachusetts, and is a proud member of SDC, AEA and Dance Masters of New England, Chapter 5.
Tom Amos (Associate Producer) is excited to return to North Shore Music Theatre in his role as Associate Producer. Joining in 2005, Tom began in the Electrics Department and quickly moved into Company Management. Prior to working at NSMT, Tom received his Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State University and his Masters in Arts Administration from Boston University. Tom's passion for theatre and social justice issues motivated him to establish a LGBT Scholarship fund at Westfield State University where he created a Social Justice Theatre program to raise funds needed to maintain the scholarship. North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) Since 1955, NSMT has become one of the most attended theatres in New England, with approximately 250,000 patrons annually. Franklin Lacey (Book) made his first stage appearance in a school production, performing in his own character sketches. For ten years, he toured the country in a one-man program of his character sketches, playing in theaters, convention halls, town halls and civic clubs. He was production assistant for Lady Windemere’s Fan, and was assistant to the director on a touring production of The Great Waltz. He was stage manager for Magdalena. Mr. Lacey wrote Pagan in the Parlour, a pageant, The Elk Story, and co-author of another pageant, The California Story. With Meredith Willson, he wrote the book for The Music Man.
Bob Richard (Director) Broadway: He has provided the choreography for How the Grinch Stole Christmas! At the St James Theatre in 2007 and it is still on the road this Holiday Season!!!! Off- Broadway: Co-Director & Choreographer of Inventing Mary Martin, The Revue Of A Lifetime. This work was recognized and nominated for the prestigious Callaway Award; The Road to Qatar at the York. Kurt has traveled the country and the world as head of Wardrobe on RENT, Hairspray, and the 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Misérables. Resident theaters include Fulton Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Pennsylvania Shakespeare, Orlando Shakespeare, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Riverside Theatre, Beef and Boards and Drury Lane. NYC credits include NTMTF Best of Fest winners Caligula, Such Good Friends, Things As They Are, and Les Enfants de Paris, and work on the Off-Broadway smash hit Shockheaded Peter! Kurt designed and produced the world premiere of Born Blue. Luke Flood (Assistant Music Director) happily returns to North Shore Music Theatre for his fifth season! Bill Hanney (Owner/Producer) is honored and proud to have been responsible for the re-opening of the nationally renowned North Shore Music Theatre in 2010. He began his career in show business at age 19, leasing and developing movie theaters, including his first multiplex in Quincy, Massachusetts. Before long, he was booking rock shows (Jefferson Starship, Rush) and other types of live entertainment, which eventually led to the presenting and producing of Broadway productions. One such show was an appearance by the legendary mime artist, Marcel Marceau. As president of Broadway Productions, Bill presented national tours such as Annie, Amadeus, Dancin', Peter Pan, Rocky Horror Show and Mark Twain starring Hal Holbrook, throughout New England including Worcester, Springfield, Portland, Maine and Boston. Aside from his work operating North Shore Music Theatre, one of Bill's crowning achievements was the 2007 purchase and re-opening of Theatre By The Sea, a landmark 500 seat professional summer theatre and restaurant, which is beginning its eleventh year of operation in Matunuck, RI (theatrebythesea.com). Throughout his career, Bill has stayed focused on his movie theatre chain having bought, built, owned, operated and sold more than 30 cinemas. His company, Entertainment Cinemas, currently operates seven movie complexes in four states. In 2009, Bill was elected President of the Theatre Owners of New England. Bill's ongoing work with NSMT inspires him to consider acquiring additional performance venues at which he plans to someday share his productions between his theatres. Bill has been named to the North Shore Top 100 by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. In 2012 he was recognized by both the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and Salem Chamber of Commerce as Business Person of the Year. He is the recipient of the 2015 Leslie S. Ray Hall of Fame Award, presented by the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. Bill is a member of the League of Broadway Producers and was involved with the recent revival of Pippin.
Kevin P. Hill (Producing Artistic Director). Born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, Kevin began his theatrical career as dancer and actor. He appeared in National Touring companies of Hello, Dolly! with Carol Channing, Leslie Uggams and Michele Lee, Anything Goes and the International Touring Company of A Chorus Line. New York audiences have seen him in the Off-Broadway production of Party. Regional credits as a performer include: West Side Story, Good News! A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady and Marvin in Falsettoland. Kevin has directed and choreographed over 100 productions across America. He has had the privilege of working with such stars as Marin Mazzie, Joanne Worley, Kathleen Turner, Josh Groban, Jonathan Groff and Tony Award winner, Cady Huffman. In New York, he was the assistant to the director of On The Twentieth Century at the New Amsterdam Theatre and assistant to the choreographer on the revival of Guys and Dolls. Most recently he directed and choreographed Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Sister Act, Young Frankenstein, Mary Poppins, and at Bill Hanney's Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island, where he is also Producing Artistic Director. Kevin has been nominated as Best Director/Choreographer for his work on Smokey Joe's Café, Rent, The Full Monty, Chicago, and Edwin Drood, and was awarded the NH Theatre Award for Best Choreography for West Side Story at the Papermill Theatre. Future projects include an original danced play called Standing Still. As a Professor of Dance, Kevin has been on faculty at Pennsylvania State University, Kansas State University and most recently The Boston Conservatory of Music. He currently owns Hill Studios Dance and Fitness Center located in Newton, Massachusetts, and is a proud member of SDC, AEA and Dance Masters of New England, Chapter 5.
Tom Amos (Associate Producer) is excited to return to North Shore Music Theatre in his role as Associate Producer. Joining in 2005, Tom began in the Electrics Department and quickly moved into Company Management. Prior to working at NSMT, Tom received his Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State University and his Masters in Arts Administration from Boston University. Tom's passion for theatre and social justice issues motivated him to establish a LGBT Scholarship fund at Westfield State University where he created a Social Justice Theatre program to raise funds needed to maintain the scholarship. North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) Since 1955, NSMT has become one of the most attended theatres in New England, with approximately 250,000 patrons annually. With a national and regional reputation for artistic achievement, NSMT has received numerous industry awards including Elliot Norton Awards, IRNE Awards, the Rosetta Le Noire Award from Actors' Equity, and the Moss Hart Award. NSMT produced the World Premiere of Memphis in 2003, the show went on to win four 2010 Tony® Awards including Best Musical.
